Alberto Wopon, born in 1879, died in 1932. A self-taught painter of
Chinese decent, he worked with Juan Gil Garcia at "El Arte"Department
Store, creating mostly Still - life paintings and landscapes. Alberto
Wopon, carried out his work between 1910 and the late nineteen thirties.
He was a prolific painter, whose style of painting is characterized by
its green backgrounds in reality, his works are a source of confusion
for collectors since Still-life paintings resemble those of his master
Gil Garcia. In 1928, he participated in a group exposition at the Havana
Liberal School of Plastic Arts.
