The various "groups" within Cuban arts.

"Vanguard artists" are a group of Cuban artists who embraced European modernism in the early part of the 20th century which led to a growth in Cuban vanguardism movements, these movements were characterized by a mixture of modern artistic genres. Artists considered part of this movement were; Eduardo Abela, Cundo Bermúdez, Aristides Fernandez, Mario Carreño, Mirta Cerra, Roberto Diago, Carlos Enríquez, Víctor Manuel García, Antonio Gattorno, Wifredo Lam, Jose Maria Mijares, Luis Martínez Pedro, Jorge Arche, Amelia Peláez, Marcelo Pogolotti, Fidelio Ponce de León, René Portocarrero, Domingo Ravenet and Mariano Rodriguez .

"Grupo Los Once" was a group of young painters and sculptors who have been credited for introducing abstractionism in Cuban art in the early fifties. The original members of the group were: Guido Llinás, René Avila, José Ignacio Bermúdez, Hugo Consuegra, Fayad Jamís, Antonio Vidal, Viredo Espinosa, Francisco Antigua, Agustín Cárdenas, José Antonio Díaz Peláez and Tomás Oliva.

"Grupo Bayate" from Mella, Santiago de Cuba. The Grupo is a collective of eight naif artists who had banded together to help their community preserve their cultural traditions and heritage. Founding members of the group were: Luis Joaquín Rodríguez Arias; Luis Joaquín Rodríguez Ricardo; Luis A. Villalón Rades; Richard Bruff Bruff; Roberto Torres Lameda; Rolando Alvarado; Angel Yopiz

"Grupo Antillano" a Cuban artistic group was formed by 16 artists, between 1975 and 1985, in Havana, Cuba.  Members of the group were; Rafael Queneditt Morales (Director). Esteban Guillermo Ayala Ferrer, Osvaldo Castilla Romero, Manuel Couceiro Prado, Herminio Escalona González, Ever Fonseca Cerviño, Ramón Haiti Eduardo, Angel Laborde Wilson, Manuel Mendive Hoyo, Lionel Morales Pérez, Claudina Clara Morera Cabrera, Miguel de Jesús Ocejo López, Marcos Rogelio Rodríguez Cobas, Arnaldo Tomás Rodríguez Larringa,  Oscar Rodríguez Lasseria and Pablo Daniel Toscano Mora.

"Grupo Arte Calle"  was a Cuban art group founded by Aldito Menéndez in 1985. The group consisted of eight artists who staged a series of spontaneous “art happenings” between 1985 and 1987. The group transformed icons from pop culture to make ideological metaphors. The group consisted of Aldito Menéndez, Ofill Echevarría Alderete, Eric Gómez Galán, Ernesto Leal Basilio, Iván Álvarez, Ariel Serrano, Leandro Martínez Cubela, Hugo Azcuy, and "Cafetero" Pedro Vizcaíno Martínez.

"Merger group" – Mayito (Mario Miguel Gonzalez), Niels Moleiro Luis, and Alain Pino

"Grupo Cara-Jo" was a Cuban art project formed in 1991 by a small group of artists including Yuri Moreno, Reinaldo Pagan, Leonardo Rubio and Orestes Campos in the city of Santiago de Cuba.  Cara-Jo, the name of which can be translated to many things and meanings or simply put, My Double Face.

"Mariel Generation"  Is a generation of Cuban artists that fled the island in 1980 as part of the exodus of more than 125,000. It Includes artists such as Carlos Alfonzo, Juan Boza, Ernesto Briel, Nelson Cantillo, Florencio Capestany, José Chiu, Nelson y Ronald Currás, Pedro Damián, Humberto Dionisio, Mysora García, Jorge García Ramos, Casimiro González, Félix González Sánchez, Pablo Hernández, Laura Luna, Gilberto Marino, Jorge Martell, Eduardo Michaelsen, Miguel Ordoqui, Luis Pardini, Trinidad Pino, Carlos Rafael, Manuel Revuelta, Jesús Selgas, Sinuhe Vega and Raul Vilaboa.
