Andres Nobregas

 

Born in Havana, Cuba, Andrés studied Art and Sketching at New York Military Academy and Port Washington School of Art, in New York. Due to his exceptional drawing skills and extraordinary abilities in diverse art forms and images, he is proficient in any medium -and often mixes watercolor with ink and acrylic. His passion for combining watercolors and acrylics has led him to become a unique master in that particular medium. Although greatly admired for his soft moody impressions of ‘The Cuban Mulata’, Andy -as he is informally known within the artistic world- also creates bright ‘Marinas’ in mixed media and a surplus of other interesting themes.

 

Covering an infinite variety of subjects, his sensitive, lyrical and atmospheric paintings have captured the interest of people and galleries from all around the world. The artist has had personal art exhibits in various galleries in New York, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tampa, Miami and Coral Gables, in Florida, and collective art exhibits in Wynwood’s The Gallery; New York Theater of the Americas, Teatro Bellas Artes, Fraga Fine Arts, Calle Ocho Galleries, Bird Art District  and The Art Box Exhibits. He's also been featured in special showings for The South Florida Cigar Producers Art Exhibit and has established record sales at several auctions for charitable institutions. His work has been on display in Mexico, Prague, Czech Republic, in Europe, and several cities in the United States.
