Santiago de Cuba, 10 mar, 1:44 AM, 2012.- La Ciudad que los vio nacer les tributó merecida deferencia. Toda una vida en las artes plásticas los junta a través del tiempo, en justo reconocimiento al distinguirlos con el otorgamiento de la condición de Hijos Ilustres por la obra de toda la vida y sus valiosos aportes a la cultura cubana. El laureado escultor santiaguero Alberto Lescay Merencio, Presidente de la Fundación Caguayo para las Artes Monumentales y Aplicadas, hizo la propuesta de estas personalidades al lauro que otorga la Asamblea Municipal del Poder Popular en Santiago de Cuba. Cinco relevantes santiagueros, dignos, que cuentan con sobradas aportaciones a la cultura santiaguera. Son ellos: José Julián Aguilera Vicente, Luis Mariano Frómeta Bustamante, José Loreto Horruitiner Vicente, Lincoln Camué Nohaya y Miguel Ángel Botalín Pampín. Este último, en feliz coincidencia cumple 80 años de su natalicio este 8 de marzo. La Licenciada Juana Randich Reyes , secretaria de la Asamblea Municipal dio lectura a las resoluciones 11/2012 , que avalan la distinción de Hijo Ilustre de Santiago de Cuba, mediante acuerdo 129-13, aprobado el 27 de febrero de 2010, para ser otorgado a quienes mantengan una trayectoria destacada en la producción, los servicios, la cultura, el deporte, la ciencia, la cooperación, la solidaridad y en cualquier otra esfera de la vida del país coadyuvando con su actitud a dignificar los méritos que con orgullo ostenta la Ciudad Héroe de la República de Cuba. ¡He aquí parte de los elogios! José Julián Aguilera Vicente se ha destacado por su labor como pedagogo, maestro de generaciones de artistas santiagueros a los cuales ha sabido educar más allá del arte y transmitirles también valores humanistas. Su obra trasciende fronteras locales, para engrandecer la pintura contemporánea de la nación llevando sus obras a diversos rincones del mundo. Acumula una rica trayectoria de trabajo excepcional, que lo avalan varios premios reconocimientos como el premio José Joaquín Tejada por la trayectoria artística, premio Creceremos de la Fundación Caguayo, Placa José María Heredia, orden Lázaro Peña de primer grado, distinciones Raúl Gómez García, Por la Cultura Nacional, entre otras. Luis Mariano Frómeta Bustamante quien posee una extensa obra que se hace tangible en diversos espacios públicos, entre ellas: el busto de Camilo Cienfuegos expuesto en el museo Emilio Bacardí, busto de José Maceo Grajales ubicado en la Avenida de Los Libertadores, cabeza del Papa Juan Pablo II en la basílica de El Cobre. Tal y como reconoció un destacado artista de este terruño, Frómeta ha sido el profesor por excelencia de casi la totalidad de los escultores santiagueros que nacieron alrededor del año 1950. Su Frank país, de cierta manera marcó la escultura de esta parte de cuba en los 70 y puede considerársele la fuente oral más rica sobre la historia de la plástica en Santiago de Cuba desde 1940 hasta hoy. Ciudad que se ufana de ser tierra natal de un hombre de la talla de Luis Mariano, pedagogo, pintor dibujante escultor y santiaguero universal. José Loreto Horruitiner Vicente, atesora una fructífera carrera como pintor grabador dibujante escultor ceramista y particularmente profesor de varias generaciones de artistas santiagueros. Acumula premios y reconocimientos que hablan en muy alto grado de su valía, entre ellos, Premio Nacional de Escultura y Pintura, Reconocimiento como miembro fundador de la Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba, la Orden Raúl Gómez García, Distinción por la cultura nacional, sello del Artista Laureado, entre muchos otros. Sus obras integran numerosas colecciones privadas en Cuba y en el extranjero. Es uno de los artistas que revolucionó la manera de ver a la ciudad de Santiago de cuba. Nicolás Lincoln Camué Nohaya, se destaca por su contribución al desarrollo artístico santiaguero y en especial de las artes plásticas. Su arte es portador de vida, imaginación y fantasía del mundo interior con flamboyanes de amplio sombrío y mulatas sensuales de cuerpos suculentos. La grandiosidad de su obra, ha transgredido fronteras mostrando lo mejor del criollismo cubano. Su aporte a la vida cultural del pueblo cubano y en especial de la ciudad de Santiago de cuba, se le ha entregado premios y distinciones como homenaje al 30 aniversario del asalto al cuartel Moncada, la Placa de reconocimiento José María Heredia, y la distinción Raúl Gómez García, entre otras. Miguel Ángel Botalín Pampín sobresale como excepcional artista de la plástica con una distinguida trayectoria de trabajo en la que se resume, además de su quehacer como plástico, su desempeño en otras funciones, como directivo y asesor de la cultura en diversos niveles. Atesora numerosos premios, distinciones y reconocimientos, los cuales confirman su valía como revolucionario y artista de su tiempo, entre ellos, asesor por la Unesco en Nicaragua, del Ministro de Cultura doctor Armando Hart Dávalos, las medallas de la Lucha Clandestina, por los 20, 30, 40 y 50 Aniversario de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias, y esta ciudad que lo vio nacer, hace 80 años, se honra con ser cuna de un hombre que ha sabido tratarla con sus trazos, mostrarla de un modo especial, con toque y colores mágicos que la hecho más grande y universal. En uso de las facultades conferidas, el máster Raúl Fornés Valenciano, presidente de la Asamblea Municipal del Poder Popular, los declaró Hijos Ilustres de la Ciudad de Santiago de Cuba, por la obra de la vida, junto a su pueblo y su revolución. En sus palabras el enaltecimiento de la Ciudad Héroe de la República de Cuba, por juntarlos en ese acto de amor, para recibir tan alto reconocimiento que otorga la institución, en virtud de la extraordinaria labor realizada como artistas de la plástica santiaguera , rectores de su vanguardia, del grupo Galería, y la escuela provincial de Artes Plásticas, donde formaron e inspiraron a nuevas generaciones, permitiendo hasta el presente, a la Ciudad, trascender las fronteras de su movimiento cultural en su vocación universal, para engrandecer la necesidad de preservar la identidad de lo cubano, meditando en la magia de los santiagueros. Dijo Fornés, que con estos cinco artistas de la Plástica en nuestro Santiago, hombres sencillos, esposos padres y abuelos de familia, amigos y dignos de ser cubanos, la historia de la ciudad se destaca y tributa al quehacer de quienes la defendieron y defienden, sin importar nada a cambio, solo el respeto y recuerdo, como parte de su pueblo trabajador y de quienes legan la extraordinaria capacidad de hacer el arte, que al decir de José Martí: “Los hombres generosos han de encontrarse muchas veces con los hombres agradecidos. Honrar, honra”. En nombre de los homenajeados, Miguel Ángel Botalín agradeció: “Sería muy fácil decir gracias a todo este acontecimiento que ha ocurrido y que sentimos profundamente, en nuestros corazones, en nuestros sentimientos. Pienso que lo expresado dice mucho de la vida de cada uno de nosotros… sin embargo me queda un aspecto que tratar. ¿Por qué nos llevamos tan bien cinco pintores de la misma época, del mismo tiempo de estudios en la Academia, que no hemos dejado en ningún momento, de más de 62 años, de estar juntos en todo momento? A mi me parece que vale la pena aclarar por qué, estamos unidos, como hermanos y no exagero, como hermanos. Y evoca: “Cuando nosotros ingresamos en la Academia, era la sociedad de los excluidos y los excluyentes, procedíamos de familias humildes. Éramos familias rebeldes, proveníamos de familias que luchaban por la economía diaria, haciendo esfuerzos económicos, y cubrir los gastos de la escuela, eso éramos nosotros. Y yo pienso que nos unió, eso la lucha, y no había ocurrido el ataque al Moncada, era la lucha por la vida…, no había Universidad… nos unimos a través de la lucha por hacer algo, por ser alguien en la sociedad, qué importa si éramos negros, blancos o pobres, no importa, estábamos excluidos de la sociedad, y ese elemento nos unió y cuando llegaron las luchas clandestinas, nos unimos, porque nuestra escuela precisamente fue uno de los lugares de efervescencia revolucionaria y allí en la Escuela de Arte de la Loma del Intendente, en el Tivolí, cayó Otto Parellada, aquel 30 de noviembre de 1956, y sabíamos que alguien podía morir, y Pepito Tey nos visitó unos días antes, sabíamos quien era Pepito y nunca hubo una delación, siempre estuvimos al lado de las luchas revolucionarias, por el pueblo, por cuba, tenía que decirlo hoy, porque estamos aquí junto a esos cuatro hermanos que son los que quedan hoy, eran más. Ahora sí puedo decir, muchas gracias”. A la ceremonia asistieron los compañeros Lázaro Expósito Canto y Etberto Callard García, primeros secretarios del Partido en la provincia y el municipio de Santiago de Cuba, respectivamente, Raúl Fornés Valenciano, presidente de la Asamblea Municipal del Poder Popular, delegados del órgano de gobierno municipal y provincial, presidentes de Consejos Populares, diputados al Parlamento cubano, Rodulfo Vaillant García, Presidente del Comité provincial de la UNEAC, el arquitecto Omar López Rodríguez, director de la Oficina del Conservador de la Ciudad y una representación de artistas de diferentes manifestaciones del territorio.
